Setting up an Online Account with the IRS is pretty straightforward:
Go to www.irs.gov/account
Choose: Sign into your Online Account
If you have already set up an ID.me account, choose Sign in with ID.me
If you have not already set up an ID.me account, choose Create an Account
Follow the steps to set up the account
Note that to verify your identity with ID.me, you'll need to provide a photo of an identity document such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport. You'll also need to take a selfie with a smartphone or a computer with a webcam.
